The event will celebrate the launch of Thomas Kador’s new book, Object-Based Learning: Exploring museums and collections in education, published by UCL Press (September. 2025). This book is a significant contribution to the literature on object-based learning (OBL), offering insights for academic and professional staff as well as students. It provides a comprehensive overview of the theory and practice of OBL, demonstrating how working with objects can enrich teaching and learning across disciplines. Drawing on case studies and practical examples, the book explores the pedagogical potential of museums and collections, and how they can foster critical thinking, creativity, and engagement.

The book is open access and freely available to download here.
